Central Park

Since 1908 Central Park has been the main public park in the city of Peterborough and today it continues to be enjoyed by many thousands of visitors each year and has become the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Peterborough.

Central Park, situated on Park Crescent, is the most prestigious park in Peterborough and is positioned at the heart of the city. It has won the national Green Flag award for twelve years in succession and several areas of the park have been refurbished in the last few years. The park provides something for all ages and interests in a beautiful mature landscaped setting.​

Central Park has a combination of formal and informal recreational areas including:

  • Children’s play areas
  • Sandpit and soft play area
  • Paddling pool
  • Sunken garden and sensory garden
  • Sports facilities for tennis (hard and grass courts), bowling greens, table tennis tables, outdoor gym and croquet lawn
  • Bird aviary

  • The Willow Café (open all year round) 
  • Parking around the Park is available and public toilets are available within the Central Park, which includes a disabled toilet
